A handy Rhapsody mashup:
Grazrhapsody.
Grazrhapsody takes the best of Grazr and the best of Rhapsody Web Services and sticks them together in a great little application that will get you diving into our music catalog in more ways than you thought possible.
For those of you unfamiliar with Grazr you can check out
http://grazr.com/ . Here's a quick little rundown of what you can do with Grazr (or at least the parts of if that I like). Once their homepage is loaded click on Create Widget. Then, where it says, "Enter a Feed or outline URL" enter the URL of your favorite Rhapsody OPML feed (
http://feeds.rhapsody.com/alternativepunk/data.opml for example). Then watch as the widget is populated with content. Now you can add this widget (using the handy source code or buttons) to any webpage, blog or custom homepage (like
Netvibes). Try out the widget, you'll notice that the slickest part of the Grazr/Rhapsody combination is the ability to start Rhapsody playback directly from clicking on links in the widget. You'll notice that as you browse through the Rhapsody catalog in Grazr that you can click on many of the items to start listening to music right away.
Taking it a great step further is Grazrhapsody. This mashup takes this seamless Rhapsody/Grazr experience and adds a search box. This allows you to quickly jump to the content you want or to quickly browse the catalog as you would in the basic Grazr/Rhapsody widget.
And finally the best part of this package...Grazr has built a handy Firefox plugin (yet another reason to use Firefox) so you can add the Grazrhapsody mashup or the basic Grazr/Rhapsody widget to your sidebar for even quicker access to the music you like. And if you'd like to take Grazr/Rhapsody integration a step further you can try including the listening history feeds of you and your friends to get a more personalized feel.
That's it for now. For more information on our feeds and APIs see our
Developers Guide.
